Wolf Children
Or feral children are children who have been found living in the wild, and whose behaviour led people to believe that such children had been brought up by wild animals. It was believed that these children would provide great insights into various aspects of development such as language acquisition. Evidence surrounding such cases was inevitably sketchy and anecdotal, and it also remained a possibility that these children were originally abandoned because they were retarded or disturbed in some way. This meant that their usefulness as case studies for normal development was severely limited.
